2022 KAWASAKI Z H2, A POWERHOUSE FILLED WITH TECHNIQUE

The strong 998cc four in line engine with supercharger provides a whopping 200 hp and a solid 137 Nm torque. That’s way more than enough to treat you with sensational accelerations every time you get on that super machine. The Z H2 is controllable and an all road force of strength thanks to the consistent delivery of torque.

THE ROOTS OF THE Z H2

The Kawasaki Z-range has been legendary for over 50 years. The Z1 900 was introduced in 1971 and was the first four stroke motorcycle that Kawasaki build. The Kawasaki Z1 was an immediate succes. The machina had a four cilinder DOHC engine and produced a solid 83 hp on paper. In reality, it produces even more. The Z 1 got the nickname “King of the Road”. In 1976, the original Z1 was succeeded by the Z900 and later by the Kawasaki Z1000.

SUPERCHARGE IT!

In 2014, Kawasaki released the Ninja H2R with a supercharger. This hyper sports bike, named after the 750 cc Kawasaki H2 Mach IV from 1972, turned out to be a real game changer for the image of Kawasaki. The H2R became a powerful eye catcher. It often got presented by the media between luxurious cars and exclusive motorcycles. The looks and the performance of the H2R went beyond limits. The supercharger turned out to be a bull’s eye in the further development of the brand.

MOST EXCLUSIVE NAKED BIKE EVER

So three years later in 2017, Kawasaki released the H2 SX which was basically the touring version of the H2R. This H2 SX formed the foundation for the Kawasaki Z H2 that was launched in 2020 as the most badass naked bike ever. A new era begins within the Z-legacy with the arrival of the revolutionary 2022 supercharged Z H2.

WHAT IS A SUPERCHARGER?

It is a compressor that is used to put air under pressure in the cilinders of an engine. The supercharger’s function is to deliver more power, kind of similar to a turbo. A supercharger is mechanically driven by the crankshaft with a belt or chain. A turbo on the other hand is powered by exhaust gasses. This way, a supercharger is able to provide consistent pressure, also when riding at low revs. So no more ‘turbo gap’.

A turbo gap is the moment on which the turbo isn’t able to deliver enough pressure. As a result, the engine doesn’t deliver the optimum efficiency. The turbo gap occurs because insufficient energy from the exhaust gasses is supplied to the turbo to activate it.
