De Fat Bob 114 voelt als een soort rauwe, gespierde bulldog op twee wielen. Lage, brede houding, dikke banden, recht stuur, alles aan ‘m schreeuwt solide en robuust. Die Milwaukee-Eight 114 trekt kneiterhard weg: je draait het gas open en hij komt direct tot leven, veel koppel onderin, zonder dat je hem hoog in toeren hoeft te jagen. Daardoor voelt hij snel en toch ontspannen tegelijk. Door het stijve Softail-frame, de upside-down voorvork en de brede banden kun je ‘m verrassend makkelijk laag de bocht in gooien. Hij stuurt lichter dan je zou verwachten van zo’n forse Harley, en blijft stabiel en zeker liggen als je ‘m plat de bocht door duwt. Kort gezegd: een Fat Bob 114 is een lage, brutale power-cruiser die snel wegtrekt bij het stoplicht, lekker diep de bochten pakt en aanvoelt als een tank maar dan eentje die écht vooruit wil.
