Yamaha is one of the most popular motorcycle brands in the world. The reasons for this are not hard to find. Yamaha makes beautiful, high-quality motorcycles and no other brand offers so many different and often innovative models. Yamaha fans can choose from dozens of different types of motorcycles. Whether you are looking for a cruiser, a sport touring bike, a naked bike, a sport heritage bike, an adventure bike, an off-road motorbike or a scooter, Yamaha offers a huge choice.
History of YAMAHA motorcycles
In 1887, Torasuka Yamaha began building pedal organs. His company grew and in the years that followed, pianos, gramophones and guitars were also built. In the 1950s, the Yamaha Corporation began building motorcycles. In 1955, the Yamaha Motor Corporation was founded.
The company's origins are still reflected in the logo. The Yamaha logo shows three crossed tuning forks. Tuning forks are used to tune musical instruments.
Why ride a YAMAHA?
If you ask YAMAHA riders why they chose this brand, you get different answers. We have listed the most frequently mentioned reasons:
Reliable
According to a large American survey, Yamaha is the most reliable motorbike brand in the world. Yamaha motorbikes are rarely broken down on the road and parts do not need to be replaced often.
Innovation
Yamaha has often set the standard for many other brands with the release of new models over the past decades.
Service
Yamaha has an excellent organisation that provides you with good service and support. Yamaha's have good and accurate warranty processing and a fast parts and accessories supply.
Popular Yamaha models
Yamaha is a motorcycle brand that has brought an impressive number of models onto the market since the YA-1, which was released in 1954. Almost every year, the Japanese motorcycle brand releases a large number of new models and improves existing models in terms of comfort and technology.
There are many Yamaha motorcycles on the road in our country. That says something about the quality, popularity and large number of Yamaha models. Yamaha has a motorcycle (or scooter!) for every type of motorcyclist. Over the years, Yamaha has produced a large number of very successful models.
We have listed the three well-known Yamaha models.
XT 500
Yamaha produced a legendary single-cylinder motorcycle between 1975 and 1981: the XT 500. The motorcycle became a worldwide success immediately after its introduction. The motorcycle was successful in major rallies, including the gruelling Paris-Dakar rally. The XT 500 was suitable for both on- and off-road use.
V-Max
This ultimate macho motorcycle does not fit into any category. The V-max was first presented in 1994 during a dealer meeting in Las Vegas. With its 1200 cc engine and 145 HP, one thing was clear: the V-max is a real traffic-light sprinter. By 2007, 100,000 units had been sold worldwide and a successor was released. This new motorcycle with a block of almost 1700 cc can reach 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. A unique achievement, faster than this does not exist. This cult bike still has no competition in this area.
R1
The Yamaha YZF-R1 was presented in 1998. The ferocious, impressive original model of this superbike set new standards in the sports segment. Its low weight combined with its power and unique technology ensured that even very experienced drivers respectfully applied the throttle. There is now an eighth generation of the R1 available at the dealership.
