The province is literally surrounded by the sea and has the most beautiful and sunny beaches of our country because of the boulevards without high-rise buildings. But Zeeland offers motorcyclists much more. Beautiful cities like Middelburg and Goes and quiet roads, winding dike roads and views that never get boring. You can also find excellent food in Zeeland, especially if you like fish. A motorcycle tour of Zeeland is a real mini-holiday.

Do you want to enjoy a drink on a terrace at the harbour of Middelburg or have lunch in a good restaurant? In Zeeland, you can go in any direction you like. The roads are never really busy and you'll discover how hospitable the people of Zeeland are. We list a number of locations in Zeeland that you should definitely visit during a motorcycle ride through Zeeland.

After the flood disaster in 1953, the government decided to build the Delta Works. The estuaries of Zeeland were closed off so that the province would have a shorter coastline. The Oosterscheldekering, with a length of 3 kilometers and 65 pillars, is the most impressive and incidentally part of the Delta Works. The barrier is often called the eighth wonder of the world.

The town of Sluis is located in Zeeuws Vlaanderen, on the Belgian border. Between the historic city walls is a lively center with all kinds of cozy restaurants and stores that are also open on Sundays.

The port of Yerseke is not only the mussel capital of Zeeland during the annual mussel festival. According to experts, you can eat delicious oysters and Eastern Scheldt lobster here as well as mussels. Yerseke also has a pleasant beach where you can swim at high tide.

South Holland is a fine province for a ride on the motorcycle. You'll be surprised how green and water-rich this province is, while historic cities like The Hague, Leiden and the impressive port city of Rotterdam are all worth a detour. Our three favorite routes:

This route of over 200 km starts and ends in Westkapelle on the Zeeland island of Walcheren. Via the seaside resort of Domburg, you head north to Brouwershaven via the Oosterscheldekering. Be sure to visit Waterland Neeltje Jans where you can learn all about the Delta Works. A beautiful route across Schouwen Duiveland takes you in an easterly direction. Via Zierikzee and Philipsland you drive south again to return to Walcheren west of Bergen. Through the inlands of Walcheren you'll drive back to Westkapelle.

Zeeuws Vlaanderen is the most southern part of Zeeland. It is an area full of atmosphere and cosiness. Typical for the landscape in Zeeuws Vlaanderen are the dikes with tall trees, the hidden creeks, the endless country roads with old pollard willows, the Spanish fortresses and the fortifications. The proximity of Belgium ensures that you can have excellent food here. With the cycling junction system and the many routes of the VVV, you can discover the region at your own pace, in your own way. That Zeeland is a very diverse province is discovered with this motorcycle route. This 120-kilometre ride takes you to Goes on Zuid Beveland via winding dikes and past beautiful meadows to Niss. After a visit to the historic cities of Middelburg and Veere, you will also visit the beautiful region of Noord Beveland.

Zamslag is located in Zeeuws Vlaanderen and café De Griete is a household name in the wider area. Snacks and drinks are prepared with care and served on the sunny terrace. Activities are regularly organized. For many visitors, this is the coziest cafe in Zeeland.

This café lies on the Volkerak, the outlet of a former sea arm. On the south side of this friendly pavilion is a brown café and a covered and heated terrace. On the other side of the building is a restaurant with a large, uncovered terrace.
