The Dutch Hanseatic League was founded in the 14th and 15th centuries, when Amsterdam was still only a small town. Their purpose was to expand trade and share knowledge. Overijssel has a strong concentration of these Hanseatic cities with Zwolle, Kampen, Hasselt, Deventer, Ommen and Oldenzaal. With a ride on a motorcycle, some of them can easily be visited in a day. They are located on the waterfront and boast magnificent merchant houses and unique facades.

For lovers of motocross, a number of great events are organized annually in the province of Overijssel. On the circuit De Herikerberg near Markelo, one of the five races for the Open Dutch Championship is held every year in June.

The region of Twente is located in the east of Overijssel. It is a region where life is green and where peace reigns. Yes, you see it right: café 't Ponton floats on the IJssel! Right next to the city bridge and with a view of both the IJssel and the city front, here you are in the most beautiful spot of Hanseatic City Kampen. A motorcycle break on the terrace of this café feels like a mini vacation.

This former farmhouse from 1889 has been in use as a café for over forty years. There is a lot of atmosphere in the building and a lovely large terrace where you can enjoy the view of the beautiful nature reserve right in front of the door. Tip: you can also rent a whisper boat here!
