Rent one of these motorcycles directly from private owners from Emmen, Hoogeveen, Meppel and many other places in Drenthe.
Drenthe is the most sparsely populated province of our country. It is an area where motorcyclists enjoy winding roads along beautiful towns and through beautiful countryside. From the center of the country, you can reach Drenthe by motorcycle within an hour and a half, a region with plenty of peace and quiet and space.
Drenthe has not only beautiful forests and heathland. The province also has a rich history and a large number of beautiful towns and villages. There are a number of places you should definitely not skip on your motorcycle ride through Drenthe. We give our top 3
Emmen has one of the most famous zoos in Europe and a huge movie theater. On a hot summer day, a motorcycle visit to the Emmerstrand is highly recommended. Around a clear recreational lake are white beaches and beautiful lawns.
Just above Emmen lies the village of Exloo. It is a typical Drenthe village with a flock of sheep and a lovely environment with many forests and heathland. On one of the many terraces in the village you can make a delicious stop.
A visit to Drenthe by motorcycle is not complete without a visit to the largest Hunebed of the Netherlands in the village of Borger. The village also has an excellent ice cream parlor with a huge variety of ice cream flavors!
Two events in the province of Drenthe are not to be missed by motorcyclists.
On the last Sunday in June, Assen is the motorcycle capital of our country. The Tourist Trophy (TT) of Assen is an annual motorcycle race on the circuit of Drenthe. In the week before race day, the TT Festival is held in Assen, which includes a fair, concerts and the famous TT Night, prior to race day. Here you will meet literally tens of thousands of motorcyclists!
From Friday 12 to Sunday 15 January 2017, the fourth edition of the MotorExpo Assen will be held. The TT Hall Assen will again be completely filled with motorcycles and everything related to them. The last edition was visited by over 11,000 motorcycle enthusiasts despite the winter weather.
Drenthe is a wonderful province for a nice ride on the motorcycle. Many small, winding roads. Little traffic and lots of beautiful nature. Our three favorite routes:
This route is specially designed for motorcyclists and TT enthusiasts. Experience the old TT race like the first TT riders did, many decades ago. For this 65 kilometer long route, the two circuits where the TT was held in 1925 and between 1926-1954 are connected.
This route of 174 km starts and ends at the parking lot of the NS station in Coevorden. The route runs largely through the moorland in the east of the province of Drenthe (and a small piece of Groningen)

This route of 171 km runs through the central sandy area of Drenthe, also known as the Drents Plateau. The tour starts at exit 27 (Fluitenberg) of the A28 near Hoogeveen.
