Yamaha fans can choose from dozens of types of motorcycles. Whether you are looking for a cruiser, sport touring, naked, sport heritage, adventure, off road motorcycle or scooter .... at Yamaha your choices are vast.

History of YAMAHA motorcycles

In 1887, Torasuka Yamaha begins building pedal engines. His business grows and in the following years pianos, gramophones and guitars were also built. In the 1950s, the Yamaha Corporation begins building motorcycles. In 1955 the Yamaha Motorcorporation is founded.

You can still see the company's origins in its logo. In the logo of Yamaha you see the three crossed tuning forks. A tuning fork can be used to tune musical instruments.

Why ride YAMAHA?

If you ask YAMAHA riders why they chose this brand you will get different reactions. We list the most frequently mentioned reasons:

Reliable

According to a large American survey Yamaha is the most reliable motorcycle brand in the world. Yamaha's are rarely broken down on the road and parts do not need to be replaced quickly.

Innovation

Yamaha has often set the standard for many other brands with the release of new models over the past decades.

Service

Yamaha has an excellent organization so you get good service and support. Yamaha's have good and accurate warranty handling and a fast parts and accessory supply.

Popular Yamaha Models

Yamaha is a motorcycle brand that has brought an impressive number of models to the market since the YA-1, which came out in 1954. Almost every year the Japanese motorcycle brand releases a large number of new models and existing models are improved in terms of comfort and technology.

There are many Yamaha motorcycles riding in our country. That says something about the quality, the popularity and the large number of models of Yamaha. Yamaha has a motorcycle (or scooter!) for every type of motorcyclist. Throughout the years Yamaha has produced a large number of very good selling models.

We put the three well-known Yamaha models in a row.

XT 500

Between 1975 and 1981 Yamaha made a legendary single-cylinder motorcycle: the XT 500. The bike was successful in major rallies, including the grueling Paris to Dakar rally. The XT 500 was suitable for on-road and off-road use.

V-max

This ultimate macho motorcycle does not fall into any category. The V-max was first presented in 1994 at a dealer meeting in Las Vegas. With the 1200 cc engine and 145 HP, one thing was clear: the V-max is a real stoplight sprinter. By 2007, 100,000 units had been sold worldwide and a successor was born. This new engine with a block of almost 1700 cc is in less than 3 seconds at the 100 km/h. A unique achievement, faster than this does not exist. This cult bike still has no competition in this area.

R1

In 1998, the Yamaha YZF-R1 was presented. The ferocious, imposing archetype of this superbike set new standards in the sports segment. The low weight in combination with the power and the unique technology ensured that even very experienced riders operated the throttle with respect. Meanwhile, an eighth generation of the R1 can already be found at the dealer.
