La f800 R tiene nada menos que 90 CV y eso es potencia más que suficiente para una aceleración superior a la media. El motor funciona de forma silenciosa y es especialmente dulce por debajo de las 6.000 rpm. No está mal, porque eso significa que puedes conducirlo muy tranquilamente en el tráfico. Quien le dé un disgusto al motor de dos tiempos, se enfrentará al otro carácter de esta fuente de energía: el lado oscuro. El motor empieza a tirar con fuerza, pero nunca llega a ser explosivo. Este motor de dos cilindros en línea tiene un aumento de potencia lineal. Tienes que amar eso. El sonido es entonces -incluso con el escape de serie- muy entretenido. Un gruñido áspero y agradable.
